Chapter 1

Getting to know the Lurcher

Origins & history

A story told

At one time, only English nobility could own sighthounds. In order to circumvent this prohibition, people of a lower condition crossed English sighthounds or Scottish sighthounds with working dogs such as the Scottish Shepherd. They thus obtained a good hunting dog that could catch its prey while running. It is therefore par excellence the poacher's dog.

Character

Daily temperament

The Lurcher is affectionate and loyal. It is a good pet that has an important need for exercise.
