Free scanner
Scan a product, read its PawScore
Kibble, wet food, treats: point the camera at the barcode, or type it in. You get the score out of 100, the ingredients and their alerts — without creating an account.
Camera access is only requested when you tap.
What is free, what needs an account
Without an account
- The product's generic PawScore, from 0 to 100
- The ingredient list and its alerts
- Better-rated alternatives
With a free account
- The score recalculated for your pet: breed, age, weight, allergies
- Your scan history, favourites and the bowl
- Label photo when the barcode is unknown
How it works
1.Scan
The camera reads the EAN barcode printed on the packaging. No camera at hand? Type the digits.
2.We find the product
The code is looked up in our catalogue, then in the open databases. A product we have never seen is analysed on the fly: allow a minute.
3.Read the PawScore
Three pillars — nutrition, ingredients, risks — give a score out of 100, computed by a deterministic engine, never by an AI.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need an account to scan?
- No. The scanner and the generic PawScore are free to use. The free account is there to personalise the score for your pet and to keep your scan history.
- Is the score computed for my pet?
- Without an account you read the product's generic score for its species. With a pet profile it is recalculated from breed, age, weight, allergies and health conditions.
- What happens if the barcode is unknown?
- We look it up in the open databases and, if it is not there, a free account lets you photograph the label to start the analysis.
