It is a sort of small pigeon 19 to 21 cm long weighing 40 to 50 g. Different colors have been obtained by combination of mutations that appeared mostly in South Africa which exported a lot to Belgium and the Netherlands (brown listed in 1964, yellow or agaat in 1975, red imported in 1977). Here are the most common colors to which must be added the white rump (dominant gene with single dose) and the white tail (white rump gene with double dose):

Satin, formerly called 'cream-ino' in the Netherlands: sex-linked gene Panachéd Both sexes are similar except the eye ring which is less conspicuous in the female than in the male and the plumage which is a little more brown depending on the mutation or combination of mutations made.
