Roborovski's Hamster (Phodopus roborovskii) or Roborovski's Dwarf Hamster (sometimes spelled Roborowski) is a species of rodent from the Cricetidae family. It is a dwarf hamster that was discovered by Konstantin Satunin in 1903 in the steppes and desert areas of Mongolia and northern China. It is a fearful micromammal that is sometimes raised in captivity in laboratories or as a pet.

The weight of this species varies significantly depending on the season. It decreases in September, reaching 17 g for females and 19 g for males. It increases in December reaching its maximum in late spring. Females then weigh 21 g and males 27 g on average. It is the smallest species of hamster in the world; the adult measures between 5.3 and 8.1 cm in length. The tail measures 7 to 11 mm. Like all dwarf hamsters, Roborovski's Hamster has four toes on its front paws and possesses cheek pouches, which allow it mainly to transport food. It has fine hearing and a very developed sense of smell. Their average size is 5–7 cm.

What living situation?
Roborovski's hamster is found in Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia and China. It lives in sand deserts and temperate grasslands. In Mongolia, its habitat is typically composed of herbaceous plants and grasses 75 cm tall, including Caragana tibetica, Ammopiptanthus mongolicus, Cynanchum komarovii and Zygophyllum pterocarpum.
