Angora is a long and silky coat found in several animal species where a natural genetic mutation affecting the fur causes it to grow faster and more abundantly than average. Like albinism, this mutation can occur in a wild individual, but it is most often selected and perpetuated in breeding to create useful races for humans (rabbit, goat...) or for pleasure (cat, hamster...). These long hairs can eventually be woven to obtain a wool fiber of the same name, most often from Angora rabbits.
