The Wirehaired Dachshund is known to be the most sociable and most docile of all Dachshunds. It is also the most sought-after Dachshund. It originates from Germany. Originally, the Dachshund is a hunting dog and blood-tracking dog (which aims to find dead or injured animals from blood traces). There are three sizes (adult size at 15 months): standard (+ 35 cm chest circumference; weight: less than 9 kg), miniature (maximum 35 cm chest circumference; weight: approx.

4 kg), Kaninchen (maximum 30 cm chest circumference; weight: approx. 3.5 kg). As for height, the ideal proportion is 1/3 between the ground and the lowest point of the chest and 2/3 between this point and the withers. The coat of wirehaired Dachshunds is generally brown and tan, but can also, more rarely, be caramel-colored. There are also sand-colored coats, rarely harlequin and very rarely chocolate. It is a calm dog. It is very engaging and experiences real emotions.
