Getting to know the Yakutian Laika
Origins & history
A story told
The Yakutian Laika is described in 1843 by Ivan Iakovlevitch Pavlovski (1800-1869) in his Manual of Geography of the Russian Empire. He indicates that this laika is used for sledding, hunting, and postal service. Regarding its history in France, it is noted that the breed was truly launched following the import of a pair in 2010 by Mrs. Gallou, Not Fancy kennel. In 2011, the dogs are authorized to pass official hip dysplasia examinations and character tests. The first litter is born in October 2012. Thanks to the breed club, the Yakutian Laika has evolved greatly until its recognition in September 2019.
