This ancient breed has been known since the 13th century. Used to hunt hare, fox, roe deer, bustard, the Polish Greyhound is also capable of tackling wolves.

Daily temperament
It is a sighthound of gentle character, courageous, athletic and reserved but confident. This companion, who adores his masters, has great strength of character; his wariness of strangers may make him a good guardian. Requiring early and firm socialization, it must therefore be trained correctly from its earliest age.

Breed standard
A large, powerful, resistant and fast sighthound, descended from Asian greyhounds. In France, the Polish Greyhound remains a breed with few registrations in the LOF (in 2007, there were approximately 30 registered).
