Bull Terrier miniature

The Bull Terrier was created by crossing the English Bulldog with the white English Terrier, a hunting dog of greyhound type, resembling the greyhound, in the 18th century in England. Dalmatians and Staffordshire Bull Terriers were also used to improve certain aesthetic aspects and coat colors. It was used at this time as a fighting dog. It fought wild or domestic animals. . In 1835, the British Parliament permanently banned animal fighting, which marked the end of the breed. Yet clandestine fights still existed but between two dogs. The selection of this breed has not been for fighting since the end of the 18th century. The standard allowed dogs of colors other than white only from 1920 because many white dogs were born deaf. The Bull Terrier was not recognized until 1835 in England and 1943 in France. In the 1900s, the difference between the breeds was determined by the weight of the dog. However, this led to Miniature Bull Terriers becoming so small and thin that they no longer resembled a Bull Terrier. The weight limit was replaced by a height limit of less than 35.5 cm in the 1970s but they are generally taller than 25 cm. They generally weigh between 9 kg and 16 kg. For the Miniature Bull Terrier the breed was recognized by the British Kennel Club in 1943. The breed standard of the Standard and Miniature Bull Terrier are exactly the same except for size.

Miniature Bull Terriers are affectionate, they are both very dependent and independent, many say their behavior resembles that of a cat more than a dog. They have a keen spirit and are always the center of action, they learn easily with a good dose of encouragement and motivation. Miniature Bull Terriers are loyal, courageous and protective. They are very energetic and cheerful. They love humans. From a good breeder, a well-socialized dog from an early age will be social with other dogs, but without the necessary socialization, like any breed, they can become reactive and antisocial.

Miniature Bull Terriers have a very muscular body. They have an egg-shaped head viewed from the front. The eyes are small, triangular in shape and black. The ears are erect.

It needs walks and play to exercise. Solitude, boredom and inactivity can make it destructive. Miniatures are independent and determined. They need gentle and consistent training without laxity or violence. They must be strongly socialized at a young age. They are also very energetic and seem able to play endlessly like puppies. However, as they grow, they become calmer.
